Privacy Policy

1. Information We Collect

We collect information that you provide directly to us, including:

  • Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your username and email address, and optionally a country you choose to display on your profile. Your password is securely managed by a third-party authentication service and we never see, store, or have access to your password.
  • Game Data: We collect information about your gameplay, including match history, statistics, performance metrics, and in-game chat messages sent during a match.
  • Communication Data: If you contact us for support or feedback, we collect the contents of your messages.
  • Usage and Analytics Data: We collect anonymized event data about how you interact with the service (such as feature interactions and gameplay events) to improve the experience.
  • Technical and login metadata: To secure the service and prevent abuse, we may collect limited metadata such as browser information, pseudonymous identifiers (stored as hashed values, not raw), your last login time, and a two-letter country code derived from provider headers or a geolocation lookup. For security logs, we store only hashed IP data and do not store raw IP addresses in our application database.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve our services
  • Process transactions and send you related information, including confirmations
  • Send you technical notices, updates, security alerts, and support messages
  • Respond to your comments, questions, and customer service requests
  • Monitor and analyze trends, usage, and activities in connection with our services
  • Detect, prevent, and address technical issues and fraud

3. Information Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We may share your information only in the following circumstances:

  • With your consent or at your direction, including if we notify you that the information will be shared in a particular manner and you provide such information
  • With service providers who need access to such information to carry out work on our behalf
  • In response to a request for information if we believe disclosure is required by law
  • To protect the rights, property, and safety of barricade.gg, our users, or others

4. Data Security

We use industry-standard security measures and trusted third-party authentication services to protect your personal information. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Where possible, we store pseudonymous values instead of raw identifiers. For example, identifiers like IP addresses and browser/device identifiers are transformed using one-way hashing before storage in short-lived security logs. Raw IP addresses may be processed transiently by our service providers to apply security protections, but we do not store raw IPs in our application database.

5. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as necessary to provide our services and for the purposes described here. In particular:

  • Security/event logs: login and signup events (with hashed identifiers) are retained for up to 12 months (365 days) to detect abuse and troubleshoot issues, after which they are automatically deleted. If we change this retention window, we will update this policy.
  • Account snapshots: minimal fields on your account (e.g., a hashed identifier, limited browser information, last login time, and last login country) are kept while your account exists to help secure your account and provide features like “last seen”. If you delete your account or make a valid erasure request, we will delete or irreversibly null these fields.

We also retain and use information as necessary to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.

6. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have certain rights regarding your personal information, including:

  • The right to access your personal information
  • The right to correct inaccurate information
  • The right to delete your personal information
  • The right to object to processing
  • The right to data portability

To exercise these rights (including requesting deletion or anonymization of account snapshots), please contact us at privacy@barricade.gg. We may ask you to verify your identity before responding to your request.

7. Cookies and Local Storage

We use cookies and similar local storage technologies (such as browser localStorage) to track activity on our service and hold certain information, such as session state and preferences. You can instruct your browser to refuse all cookies or clear local storage at any time, though some features may not function correctly without it.

8. Children's Privacy

Our service is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
